They are gone but never forgetten.

Stephen Griner
Husband, Father, Son, Brother, Friend

I’m sure many of you have heard of Stephen Griner’s passing. Stephen as fatally injured doing what he enjoyed, riding motorcycles at a cross-country race in Alto, Texas. He leaves behind a lovely young wife and three small children.

Even if you knew Stephen for only a short while, you could tell that he was a nice guy. A guy with a sort of a perpetual grin like a little kid who’s been into some mischief. Stephen had been riding and racing from a very early age as evidenced by his ability. You could ask his advice about which class to ride or what size bike to buy. Stephen would always tell you what he thought and back it up with a couple of reasons for his decision. His breadth of riding experience ranged from Baja, Mexico, to the deserts of the southwestern United States, to the mountains of Colorado and home to the mesquite-covered flats and piney woods of Texas. No matter what kind of racing, be it a hare-scrambles, cross-country or enduro, Stephen loved them all.

Stephen will most be remembered for the type of person he was. He was a devoted husband to his wife Tiffany and an outstanding father for his three children.  He led by example and not just words. Stephen had a remarkable memory for detail and never forgot a face. You could not help but like Stephen.

Though he had been racing hare scrambles and cross countries for the last several years, Stephen was still active in the Fort Worth Trailblazers. He was serving as Treasurer at the time of his accident. Among the long list of people touched by Stephen that will miss his wit and smile for years to come are his friends on the TSCEC and in the Trailblazers.
