Six Job Descriptions
- COURSE CHAIRMAN
Layout course, establish speed averages, checkpoints, tie breakers, etc. Provide route info.
Act as club referee on race day.
- SUPPLIES CHAIRMAN
Procure all supplies and services for event i.e., arrows, ribbons, port-a-potties,
trash bags, EMS service, checkpoint supplies, scorecards, set clocks, etc.
Maintain left over supplies in safe place.
Job assignments?
- PUBLICITY CHAIRMAN
Prepare poster in timely manner. Provide to proper circuits.Mail to current list,
provide press releases, purchase any advertising. Establish various promotions.
- INSURANCE COMPLIANCE OFFICER
Procure sanction and insurance coverage from AMA - make sure club is in compliance with
all insurance and sanction requirements.
Prepare AMA report.
- SIGN-IN AND SCORING CHAIRMAN
Responsible for handling all pre-entries, assigning numbers, do sign-up booth on Saturday
and Sunday. Coordinate scoring with TSCEC scoring chairperson.
- SWEEP CHAIRMAN
Pick sweep riders and coordinate sweep activities with checkpoint closing.
- Event Chairman
The event chairman can do one or more of the above jobs, but should delegate much of
the work to others to spread the load and to make sure that several club
members know what the plans are for the event. The event chairman should follow
up frequently to make sure everything is being done in a timely manner.
